Simon Heawood Associate

Simon works in management consultancy. In 2009, he graduated from Exeter College, Oxford, with a first-class degree in Classics. He is also a former JCR President.

Having won the Richard Sandbrook scholarship (named after the famous environmentalist and development professional) he interned at the International Institute of Environment and Development, concentrating on water and sanitation provison in informal urban settlements in the developing world. During his gap year, he helped to set up and taught at a small school for street children in Huaraz in the Peruvian Andes, and worked on a community project at a school in Riobamba, Ecuador.

Simon was made an Associate of Avonbrook in 2009 in recognition of his work for the Charity, within Exeter College, the previous year.
