The 'Me Generation'?

Barrister magazine's Lifestyle supplement ran an interview with Avonbrook Chairman, David Maddock, and Secretary, Michael Amherst. The pair talk about their involvement with the Charity from its inception, along with the 2008 meeting at which the Board of Trustees agreed to narrow Avonbrook's aims.

Michael explains that teacher training and vocational projects for school leavers are often overlooked by other organisations, 'as they lack the visible signs of progress achieved by building projects and fall outside of the UN's Millennium Development goals. These place a premium on enrolment, without tackling the issue of who will teach these children or what they will do beyond primary education.'
