Michael Amherst appointed Avonbrook CEO

Michael Amherst has agreed to become CEO of Avonbrook Projects Abroad. The Charity Commission requires that anyone responsible for the day-to-day management of a charity should be designated CEO and it was agreed that Michael was already fulfilling this role. He will now be responsible for the running of Avonbrook and will report back to the Board of Trustees at every meeting. The allocation of grants will still be decided by the Board.

This was one of several changes affecting the governance of Avonbrook, agreed at the last meeting. The Board also agreed that this year's Exeter College Associates should be asked to stay on as Associates, a non-executive role, in recognition of their contribution over the last year. Michael Amherst will now seek two new Exeter College Associates, to replace Simon Heawood and Jenny Donnellan, who graduated from the College this year.
